A travel-study opportunity focused Trip Dates: MARCH 3-11, 2017 INFORMATION SESSIONS Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg, also in Denmark. With 4.733 million visitors in 2015, Tivoli is the second-most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most-visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most-visited in Europe, only behind Disneyland Paris, Europa-Park Rust and the Efteling. The National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen is Denmark’s largest museum of cultural history, comprising the histories of Danish and foreign cultures, alike. The museum's main building is located a short distance from Strøget at the center of Copenhagen. It contains exhibits from around the world, from Greenland to South America. Museum on the Bygdøy peninsula with Viking ship discoveries from Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord. Faculty will present options for exploring music, art, theatre, and historical offerings in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo as well as providing practical travel advice for your trip. Please keep these Tuesday evenings open for these classes. All sessions are 6:30 - 8:30 pm BASIC TRIP COST COSTS NOT INCLUDED IN BASIC TRIP COST WHAT YOU RECEIVE FOR YOUR RIVERLAND TUITION Eligible students: financial aid can be used to cover the tuition and costs for this course. This trip is open to all interested persons who are 18 on or before March 1, 2017. Persons under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult over 21 years of age to accompany them. Reservations will be not be accepted without $500.00 non-refundable deposit. After deposit is received, you will receive a confirmation letter and registration instructions for THTR and MUSC 2295 World Cultural Studies. All participants must register for credits. However, these credits can be taken on an audit basis for those who wish to be free from academic responsibility. Final day for registration & non-refundable deposit: November 21, 2016 or as soon as space is filled. Deposit will be retuned if trip does not meet minimum number of participants.
