Assistant Coach - Derek Hahn

Derek enters his 4th season as an assistant coach under Coach Koenigs at Riverland Community College. The Lakeville, MN native is no stranger to the Blue Devils or Coach Koenigs as he played two seasons for RCC (2009 & 2010). Since rejoining the Blue Devils as a coach, Hahn has had the opportunity to be a part of three straight MCAC Southern-Division Conference titles. Over the past three seasons the Blue Devils have compiled an impressive record of 95-30 (76%). Hahn’s fondest memory as a coach came during the 2015 season when Coach Koenigs Blue Devils set a school record twenty-four straight victories!

During his two years as a player for the Blue Devils Derek was a starting catcher. Hahn helped the Blue Devils to a record seventy-three wins in just two seasons. In the springs of 2009 & 2010 the Blue Devils earned MCAC State Championships and Region Thirteen Championships. Without question the highlight of Hahn's run as a player for the Devils was back to back trips to the JUCO World Series. In two seasons with the Devils Derek compiled a batting average of .321 (53-165) and always found himself on base with a career OBP of .523 (123-235). After finishing at RCC Hahn went on to play baseball at the University of Wisconsin Superior for one season. Derek eventually transferred to finish his career at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD where he played basketball for the Saints too. Hahn is excited about the opportunity to work under Coach Koenigs in hopes of guiding the Devils back to the World Series. During the winter Derek is the head men's basketball coach at Riverland.
