Riverland Community College Logo

The Advanced Nursing Assistant Certificate will prepare you to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Additionally, it will help you complete all of the prerequisite courses to qualify you for application to the Practical Nursing (PN) program.

Certified Nursing Assistants care for clients in hospitals, nursing homes, medical centers, health clinics, adult daycare, child daycare, and home care agencies.

You will be able to apply to the Practical Nursing Program after completing this certificate program.

The PN program will help you learn the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become licensed and give direct nursing care to clients in hospitals, nursing homes, medical centers, health clinics, adult daycare, child daycare, and home care agencies.

After completing the PN program, students will be eligible to sit for the  NCLEX-PN examination and apply to the Minnesota Board of Nursing for licensure. The Riverland Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
