Community Impact Campaign

Community Impact is a community-wide fundraising campaign, throughout Austin, Albert Lea, and Owatonna – the three communities that Riverland Community College calls home. We hope by being engaged in this campaign, you'll better understand what Riverland Community College Foundation does and how you can make a difference in the lives of Riverland students. This campaign is raising funds for Riverland Community College Foundation’s Student Success Initiative.

Why should I give to the Student Success Initiative?

Gifts to the Student Success Initiative offer flexibility that supports areas with the greatest need - including for scholarships, innovation grants, and emergency assistance.

  • Emergency assistance Grants for students

Emergency assistance grants help students cover the costs of basic needs, including food, housing, transportation, and childcare, directly impacting their well-being and success.

  • Innovation grants
  • Innovation grants allow faculty and staff to creatively implement solutions that will impact student success by eliminating equity gaps across race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.
  • 55% of Riverland students were first generation in 2020-21
  • 1,227 students were PELL grant eligible in 2020-21
  • 225+ students who applied were not awarded scholarships each year due to lack of dollars available

Community Impact Upcoming Events

Community Impact events are hosted by Riverland Community College Foundation and are directed towards supporting the Student Success Initiative Fund. By holding Community Impact in a learning area on campus, we hope to highlight programs Riverland offers and to share a glimpse into what the student experience at Riverland is like. Although this event is free to attend, guests will be asked to make a gift to support Riverland students. Appetizers, drinks, a short program, and networking opportunities are included. Community Impact events are invite only. If you are interested in learning more or in being a Table Captain, please contact Alexis Allen at alexis.allen@riverland.edu.
