Community Impact

Community Impact Campaign

Community Impact is a fundraising event hosted by Riverland Community College Foundation directed towards supporting the Student Success Initiative Fund. We hope by attending, you'll better understand what Riverland Community College Foundation does and how you can make a difference in the lives of Riverland students. By holding Community Impact on our campuses, we hope to highlight programs Riverland offers and to share a glimpse into what the student experience at Riverland is like. Although this event is free to attend, guests will be asked to make a gift to support Riverland students. This is a networking event including appetizers, drinks, a short program, and the opportunity to meet Riverland President, Dr. Kat Linaker.

Why should I give to the Student Success Initiative?

Gifts to the Student Success Initiative offer flexibility that supports areas with the greatest need - including for scholarships, innovation grants, and emergency assistance.

  • Emergency assistance Grants for students

Emergency assistance grants help students cover the costs of basic needs, including food, housing, transportation, and childcare, directly impacting their well-being and success.

  • Innovation grants
  • Innovation grants allow faculty and staff to creatively implement solutions that will impact student success by eliminating equity gaps across race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.
  • 55% of Riverland students were first generation in 2020-21
  • 1,227 students were PELL grant eligible in 2020-21
  • 225+ students who applied were not awarded scholarships each year due to lack of dollars available
