Riverland president urges civic involvement in the future of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, legislative session
Legislators are considering many important investments, among them funding for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, which of course includes our three Riverland campuses in Albert Lea, Austin and Owatonna. We need to urge our legislators to help all of us meet the challenge of educating all Minnesotans and fill the regional workforce gap by moving the funding allocation more toward 50/50 funding from the state. Riverland understands that a large part of the 50 percent non-state funding must be through tuition and public-private partnerships.

Riverland Community College is less than a month away from the Hall of Fame weekend to be held in Austin and Albert Lea May 29 through June 1, but continues the search for several alumni inductees or their families to accept their awards.
Riverland Community College Carpentry Program receives scholarship donation from Knutson Construction; matched for MnSCU Leveraged Equipment fund
Knutson Construction, one of the premier construction companies in the upper Midwest since 1911, recently provided scholarship support to Riverland Community College Carpentry Technology students, a donation that tripled in value with matching funds.
