September 6 President’s Address to faculty and staff introduces the need to create a Strategic Plan with a student focus, grow enrollment, attain goals and eliminate equity gaps. All Campus Staff and Faculty Development Day centered on SWOT analysis of the four pillars: People, Program, Outreach, and Resources.
September 25 President’s Cabinet review of SWOT analysis, identification of themes
October 1 Planning Meeting for Strategic Leadership Team Retreat
October 14 Student Feedback Session with Student Senate at the Austin Campus
October 30 Strategic Planning Leadership Team Retreat
November 8 President’s Advisory Board participate in SWOT analysis of the four pillars: People, Program, Outreach and Resources
December 10 President’s Town Hall Meeting at the Owatonna campus (students and community)
 
December 11 President’s Town Hall Meeting at each campus for employees
December 16 President’s Town Hall Meeting in Albert Lea (students and community)
December 17 President’s Town Hall Meeting in Austin (students and community)
December 29 Draft Strategic Plan submitted

2020

January 22 Strategic Planning session with President’s Cabinet, finalize pillars, objectives, and goals
February 2 Draft of final Strategic Plan sent to Strategic Planning team for final review.
February 20 Submission of tentative plan (pillars, objectives, goals, and measures)
February 22 New Mission, Vision, and Values statements submitted to Minnesota State Board of Trustees for consideration.
March 15 Pandemic requires a Strategic Planning timeline shift to concentrate on health and safety concerns for employees and students.
April 22 President Atewologun presents revised Mission, Vision and Value statements to Minnesota State Board of Trustees. The new statements are approved.
April 29 Strategic Planning Team develop strategies for People and Resource Pillars
May 7 Finance Pillar Strategic Planning Team develop strategies
May 27 People Pillar Strategic Planning Team meeting
June 4 Outreach Pillar Strategic Planning Team develop strategies
June 24 Outreach Pillar Strategic Planning Team meeting
June 30 Final Strategic Plans submitted from the four pillars: People, Program, Outreach, Resources. Cabinet finalizes strategies and action steps for four pillars, Leads for pillars are determined
August 24 Strategic Vision is released to employees and is posted on the college website at riverland.edu/strategy
September 25 Strategic Plan 2020-2025 print version published
