Advanced Placement (AP)
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program of College Board through which a secondary student completes college-level courses that are designated as AP in high schools. A student may earn college credits by demonstrating a specified level of performance on AP examinations. The AP examinations, which are scored on a 5-point scale, can be taken by any student who feels prepared by independent study or other preparation as well as by students who complete AP courses.
Riverland will grant college credit for scores of 3 or above on AP exams. The credits will be granted towards a specific college course that covers substantially similar material. Elective credits will be granted for an exam that is not substantially similar to an existing course.

In order to receive credit, the student must provide Riverland Community College with an official score report of their AP exam(s) by requesting them from College Board. These can be sent to:

The Transfer Specialist will transcript credits based on approved courses.

Student will be notified via email from the Registrar’s Office once transcription is complete with instructions on how to view transfer credits.
