Program Graduate Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, the graduate will:
- Recognize the mission, goals, and objectives a of professional criminal justice/law enforcement agency.
- Discern the interrelationships of social, legal, cultural, political, and economic systems engaged by the individual citizens and communities.
- Understand the process by which laws, statutes, and ordinances are enacted and their interrelationships.
- Identify and describe the different types of correctional institutions and their functions, purposes, and objectives.
- Describe and discuss the process by which laws, statutes, and ordinances are enacted and their interrelationship with corresponding sanctions and correction treatment processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of interrogation and interview techniques.
- Explain the importance of recognizing areas of conflict and mediating a solution.
- Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Minnesota Criminal Law.
- Understand the procedures and requirements for conducting interrogations.
- Recognize the legal requirements when processing juveniles in the criminal justice system.
- Understand the victim’s role in the criminal justice system.
