This course offers an in-depth introduction to scripting.  The Python programing language will be used to introduce the basics of computer programing.  Curriculum used in the course is approved by the National Cyberwatch Center.

This introductory course explores the basic concepts and techniques of using Structured Query Language (SQL). Every business has a database and SQL is the backbone for accessing the data. This is an introductory course that exposes students to designing, building and using databases with MySQL.  Topics covered also include SQL commands, single and multiple-table queries, administration, importing and exporting data. Hands-on labs and exercises will be used throughout the course.

Intro to Web Database is the first of a two-course sequence. This course is part of the Computer Technology program which is an accredited program in World Organization of Webmaster (WOW) Professional Academy.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of the R programming language for data analytics. Participants will gain practical skills in data manipulation, visualization, and basic statistical analysis using R. Emphasis will be placed on hands-on coding and real-world applications.

This course provides a basic understanding of computer history, concepts, and microcomputer applications using Windows-based computers. Topics covered include computer hardware and software, operating systems and utilities, the system unit, input and output devices, secondary storage, communications and connectivity, the Internet and the Web, security and privacy, ethics, and computer use in organizations. Through handson experience, students acquire an understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint that are used in business. No prior knowledge of software packages or microcomputers is necessary. Keyboarding skill promotes success in this course. (3 Cr – 3 lect, 0 lab)

This course covers the basics of college level algebra emphasizing understanding of the basic principles through investigation. The topics covered range from a basic algebra review to exploration of linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions along with a study of rational expressions, inverse relations, function operations, complex numbers, and systems of equations. Prerequisites: Math 0670 with a grade of C or better or appropriate placement in course based on Multiple Measures for Course Placement – Math Decision Band Chart. This course provides an overall picture of contemporary business operations in a global world. Topics covered include forms of business organization; small businesses, entrepreneurships, and franchises; fundamentals of management and marketing; organizational and team structures; accounting and finance concepts; human resource management; operations management; legal and regulatory guidelines; social and ethical responsibilities; and careers in business. The course is designed to help students realize the integral role business plays in the economy and our lifestyles. (3 Cr – 3 lect, 0 lab)

This course is an introduction of basic statistical methods including sampling, analyzing a research study, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing of means and proportions, Chi-square, analysis of variance, correlation, and regression. The use of statistical software is included in this course. College-level reading ability in English is strongly recommended. This course emphasizes business concepts and applications using spreadsheet software. Topics include entering labels, values, formulae, and functions; moving, copying formatting, saving, and retrieving spreadsheet data; manipulating databases using delete, insert, sort, and extract functions; printing large and small spreadsheets; publishing spreadsheets on the Web; macros; and graphing. Keying skills support success in this course.

• Co-requisite: BUSO 1620 or instructor’s approval. Although BUSO 2637 and BUSO 1620 may be taken concurrently, it is recommended that students complete BUSO 1620 prior to taking BUSO 2637.

This course provides an exploration of data visualization principles, techniques, and applications. Students will learn how to effectively communicate insights from datasets using various visualization tools. The course includes hands-on projects in data visualization.

A comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of business analytics. This course covers data collection, analysis, and visualization techniques, as well as the application of business analytics tools and methodologies in real-world scenarios. Students will gain hands-on experience with programming, structured query language (SQL), machine learning, and predictive modeling. Students are advised to take CPRO1850 during their final semester.
