Successful completion of the Fire Services degree program at Riverland Community College will meet the requirements for certification in Fire Services by the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education. Certification by Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education is required by Minnesota as well as by Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin states to acquire a state license to practice the profession of Fire Services. Riverland highly recommends that you contact the appropriate state licensing board in the state or locality in which you wish to practice or be employed.
