Program Graduate Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, the graduate will:
- Describe and discuss the process by which laws, statutes, and ordinances are enacted and their interrelationship with corresponding sanctions and correction treatment processes.
- Document and photograph crime scenes and prepare the case for court.
- Understand the Use of Force Continuum and the reasonableness of force used by peace officer agencies.
- Understand the signs of stress and explain how to alleviate it.
- Explain the importance of recognizing areas of conflict and mediating a solution.
- Understand core ethical principles and how the apply to peace officer situations.
- Collect information from a variety of situations and develop a peace officer report.
- Recognize the basic purposes of the constitutional amendments that directly apply to peace officers.
- Demonstrate appropriate use of verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.
- Recognize the legal requirements when processing juveniles in the criminal justice system.
- Utilize the code book to locate and apply the statutes that applies to the elements of a given crime.
- Describe the criminal justice process as it applies to the victim.
