These course sequences are for students who place into either pre-calculus or calculus before the fall of their first year. Students who place into college algebra are encouraged to take it the summer before starting their year 1 fall classes. This is important to stay on track as pre-calculus is a fall-only class and because college physics requires college algebra (or a higher-level placement).
