Upon completion of this program, graduates will have a strong foundation of knowledge, especially in the natural and social sciences, that will enable them to succeed in professional health programs including Chiropractic, Dentistry, Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Podiatry, Physical Therapy, and Veterinary Medicine. These outcomes correspond to the five Riverland Discipline Area MnTC Goals and are measured through Riverland’s Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Project (SLOAP).
- Communication - Riverland graduates utilize the English language effectively and read, write, speak, and listen critically. (goal 1)
- Natural Sciences - Riverland graduates understand natural science principles and methods of scientific inquiry. (goal 3)
- Mathematics/Logical Reasoning - Riverland graduates know mathematical and logical modes of thinking. (goal 4)
- History and the Social and Behavioral Sciences - Riverland graduates know how historians and social and behavioral scientists discover, describe, and explain the behaviors and interactions among individuals, groups, institutions, events, and ideas. (goal 5)
- The Humanities and the Fine Arts - Riverland graduates know human conditions and human cultures, in relation to behavior, ideas, and values expressed in works of human imagination and thought. (goal 6)
