Program Review

The purposes of academic program review at Riverland Community College are to: 1) demonstrate high quality; and 2) stimulate planning and improvement. Riverland Community College's program review process conforms to the definitions, policies, and procedures for academic program review as established by Minnesota State Policy and Procedure 3.36.

Riverland's policy is to do program review on a two-year cycle, with the expectation that departments will develop a long-term vision for their program and use their annual department work plans to implement that vision. The current process envisions annual planning and improvement as the vital heartbeat of the program, with program review being a more intense but regular part of the rhythm.

Program review at Riverland Community College involves ten areas:

  1. Program Accreditation

  2. Identify Priorities

  3. Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes

  4. Academic Program Assessment

  5. Contributions to College Mission and Priorities

  6. Measures of Program Effectiveness

  7. Advisory Committee or Other External Input

  8. Evidence of Rigor and Relevance

  9. Student Career Information

  10. Evidence of Engagement
