College Credit in High School
Riverland Community College offers a variety of college options for high school students. In partnerships with high schools and community entities, innovative strategies have been implemented and are under development to allow high school students to explore career options and to begin college and prepare for a career while in high school. All of the courses are free to students saving families thousands of dollars in tuition every year.
Opportunities for high school students to earn college credit and prepare for a career while in high school are:
Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college-level courses.
Contact Information
Concurrent Enrollment provides 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students with the opportunity to take college-credit bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers or college faculty, generally on the high school campus.
- Location: Taught in the high school.
- Taught by: High school teachers who have been approved by the post-secondary academic department sponsoring the course.
