OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Course

This OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Course provides advanced training on recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards within the workplace.  


This course is intended for supervisors and persons who need a more comprehensive working knowledge of hazards affecting their workplace. This course provides a more comprehensive level of training on an expanded list of topics from the 10-hour General Industry course.


Through the OSHA Outreach Training program, an OSHA-authorized Outreach trainer will deliver this course (4 days Actual Length). Upon successful completion students will earn the, “OSHA 30 Card for General Industry.” This completion card is provided by the OSHA Training Institute. 


Learning Objectives:

  • Understand importance of OSHA in regulating employee safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge of employees' rights and employer responsibilities
  • Recognize manufacturing processes, tasks, and equipment
  • Identify common hazards found in the workplace
  • Follow OSHA General Industry standards
  • Recommend prevention and correction strategies for violations and hazards found in the workplace
  • Recognize role of the workforce and management in improving safety culture 

No class offerings at this time.

 

*OSHA 10 & 30-Hour courses are NOT the prerequisites for the, “OSHA 501 – Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry.” Students seeking authorization to teach this curriculum must take, “OSHA 511 and OSHA 501 courses.”  Finally, OSHA Outreach Training is voluntary and it cannot be utilized to meet an employer’s required compliance training responsibilities.
