The Mower County Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is a one-day event for young children in grades 3-6. The Safety Day is a joint collaboration between Riverland Community College and Mower County 4-H Extension and is offered for free for all Mower County students. This program provides students the opportunity to learn more about household and farm safety from local professionals. Students will explore many important hazards that they may encounter including:

  • Grain Bin Safety
  • Tractor/Power Take-Off (PTO) Safety
  • Agricultural/Household Chemicals
  • Lawn Mower Safety
  • Fire Extinguisher/General Fire Safety
  • Drugs, Tobacco, and Knife Safety
  • First-Aid/CPR
  • Bicycle/ATV Safety
  • Electricity Safety
