Microsoft 365 In the Labs Change
- Starting this fall student and instructor classroom stations will primarily have Microsoft Office 365 as the Microsoft Office Suite instead of Office 2016.
- Same apps included in Microsoft 365 as Office 2016, just updated versions.
- Due to Microsoft licensing changes, users (both students and employees) will need to sign into their Minnesota State Microsoft account using their @go.minnstate.edu (student) or @minnstate.edu (employee) credentials.
- You will be prompted to sign in when opening the first Microsoft application like Word, Excel, etc.
- Users should only need to sign in once every 30 days.
- User will need to access their MFA device to sign in (generally your cell phone).
- Sign-in “token” is saved on your H: drive and NOT the PC, the sign-in will follow you from PC to PC, so no need to sign into Microsoft on every device (you will still need to sign into Windows on every device).
- Signing into email on the web is a separate sign-in that will require them to use MFA each time they sign-in, regardless of the other Microsoft applications.
