Flex Learning Day - Austin Campus Only
FLEX Learning Day — Austin Campus Only
Starting at 11 a.m. today, Riverland Community College is providing a FLEX Learning Day for Austin only due to the campus lockdown. Many students have returned to their normal schedule, so instructors may decide whether to switch modalities for the day.
Expectations
Students — Austin
- Check Brightspace (D2L) for course-specific e-learning instructions today. If there is no message from your instructor, plan to attend as regularly scheduled.
- Communicate with your instructors if you cannot attend class in person or virtually.
Students — Albert Lea and Owatonna
- Please attend courses as regularly scheduled.
Faculty — Austin
- If your course includes an online component, conduct classes from a safe location.
- For on-campus assignments, you may transition to online instruction or provide alternative learning activities.
- If students are reluctant to stay or attend in-person, be flexible with attendance and due dates.
- If you do not offer online or alternative learning activities, you must take personal leave unless your supervising dean approves alternative compensatory duties for the day.
- Please consider that some students may have limited internet access at home. Deans will consider these factors when excusing faculty from e-learning days.
Faculty — Albert Lea and Owatonna
- Classes run as scheduled.
Staff
- You are expected to continue working, provided the emergency does not prevent you from safely performing your duties.
- You may use personal leave, vacation leave, or earned compensatory time with supervisor approval.
Students will be notified to check Brightspace for further instructions and for a list of additional resources as they become available.
