NJCAA names Riverland Community College Softball Team a 2014 All-Academic Team for academic excellence

Congratulations to the Riverland Community College Women's Softball team for achieving academic excellence as a 2013-2014 NJCAA All-Academic Team. The minimum grade point average (GPA) requirement for consideration is a team GPA of 3.00.

Riverland's team's cumulative GPA of all players is 3.14. The players are Miriah Carruth, Rayna Eckman, Brooke Erickson, Danielle Groepper, Rebecca Kopp, Samantha LeMay, Cortney Perrin, Amy Reinhardt, Ashley Sanderson, Laura Seigfreid, Alexis Schunke, and Jamie Williamson.

"This the first time this award has been won in Riverland history," said Softball Coach Al Eckman. "What great way to end a super season."

The NJCAA serves as the national governing body for two-year college athletics in the United States and is the nation's second-largest national intercollegiate sports organization (second to the NCAA). Each year nearly 60,000 student-athletes from 525 member colleges compete in 28 different sports.
