Riverland hosts Cycles for Success scholarship, financial aid info sessions

Riverland Community College will host several information sessions for Austin students who will be graduating in June, summer or fall 2015 and want to learn about the Cycles for Success scholarship process and the basic financial aid process.

Nearly 40 students graduating from Austin High or Austin Pacelli High schools are eligible to receive Cycles for Success scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $6,000 per year depending on family income and the funds can be used at any Riverland campus or for online courses. The scholarships are funded by The Hormel Foundation of Austin. More than 200 Students have received Cycles for Success scholarships since the program launched in 2010.

The information sessions will assist students and their families to complete Cycles for Success applications as well as the financial aid application (FAFSA). Participating families should bring their 2014 tax returns to assist with the process. Staff will also be available to help anyone who needs assistance with the FAFSA application process even if they are not currently eligible for the scholarship.

The information sessions, hosted by Riverland, Austin High School and Minnesota Goal will take place in Christgau Hall at Austin High School:

  • Monday, Feb. 23 at 12 or 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 4 at 12 or 6 p.m.
  • Monday, March 9 at 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 18 at 6 p.m.

The Cycles for Success presentation will take place during the first 30 minutes of each session, followed by help on the FAFSA application.
