Riverland Community College kicks off their 75th Anniversary celebration year with the Bikers of Student Success (BOSS) ride this Saturday morning, July 26. The BOSS Ride is an annual event that brings together motorcycle enthusiasts to raise money for scholarships to support Riverland students who need financial assistance to continue their education/career pathway.
A beautiful course is planned for this year’s 14th annual Triple Diamond BOSS ride with a tour through scenic parts of Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota, according to Steve Bowron, Riverland dean of institutional advancement.
The BOSS ride has raised more than $50,000 for scholarships during the past thirteen years. “A major reason for the success of this event is due to the response of the motorcycle community,” Bowron said. “We also receive generous donations from local companies who provide prizes for a raffle and the silent auction, in addition to beverages and snacks served to the participants during the ride.”
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the East Building of Riverland’s Austin campus with the ride starting at 10 a.m. To celebrate the beginning of Riverland’s 75th Anniversary year, the goal is to attract at least 75 motorcycles for this event. Bowron encouraged motorcyclists to join them for a great day of riding. For more information or to register to ride, visit http://www.riverland.edu/boss.
Registration is open for riders up until the ride begins on Saturday.
