Riverland Community College will be hosting a Job and Career Fair on Wednesday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at its Albert Lea campus. Over thirty businesses and organizations will be attending, representing Albert Lea, Austin, Owatonna, Rochester, Mankato and their surrounding communities.
Job Seekers will learn about full- and part-time career opportunities in healthcare, services/trades, manufacturing, retail and hospitality. Riverland, Workforce Development, Inc. and the WorkForce Center are coordinating this event.
“The businesses have been approaching our offices for a couple of months now, asking if we were going to have a job fair again this year,” according to Valerie Kvale, Placement Specialist with Workforce Development, Inc. “Last year’s job fair was well-received by both job seekers and employers. These requests seem indicative of a change in the region’s job market-- moving into the right direction with hiring activity. The college location is ideal in that it brings the public, the businesses and resources together at the same time.”
The job fair is open to the public. For further information, call Valerie Kvale at 507-369-1472 or Betsy Bushlack at 507-396-0428.
