Riverland Community College, in conjunction with College Application Week, will waive the application for all high school seniors that apply to attend Riverland Nov. 12-16.
Last year, Gov. Mark Dayton proclaimed the second week of November Minnesota College Application Week. This week will provide a framework for high schools and postsecondary institutions to collaborate in a concentrated effort to engage and inform underrepresented (first generation college students, students of color, and low-income) students about the college application process and to highlight college and career readiness efforts occurring throughout the state.
Riverland has decided to participate and expand it to include all high school seniors that apply for fall semester 2013 during College Application Week. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.riverland.edu/apply. Applicants should also contact their high schools and have them submit their high school transcripts to Riverland. Once the transcripts and applications are submitted, the application fees will be waived.
Although Riverland campuses are closed Monday for Veteran’s Day, online applications submitted during that day will be eligible.
High school seniors can also still attend Thursday’s Big Day On Campus by registering for this Campus Visit day by calling 507-433-0832. We will open our computer labs in the Austin West Building, Rooms A108 and A109 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. for people who want to complete online applications.
