Riverland’s Truck and Commercial Bus Program took the spotlight on a recent episode of the Dave Nemo Show, a popular trucking-focused program on SiriusXM. The show featured an in-depth conversation with Jonathan Rymer, the program’s director and lead instructor, who shared his journey from the trucking industry to building one of the most comprehensive CDL training programs in the nation.

During the interview, Rymer highlighted the unique aspects of Riverland’s program, which emphasizes hands-on training, industry connections, and a focus on creating well-rounded, career-ready drivers.

“Our goal is to create something where students can get all the endorsements, be well-trained, and have access to industry partnerships that set them up for success,” Rymer explained.

His extensive experience—including hauling hazardous materials for the private fleets of DuPont and ConocoPhillips—inspired his vision to create a training program that delivers both technical skills and a deeper understanding of the trucking lifestyle.

“Having the endorsements and the training isn’t just about passing a test; it’s about preparing students to be successful and safe on the road. We make sure our graduates leave the program with the confidence and skills they need to excel,” said Rymer
