Patricia Bronstein's current show incorporates chance effects from chemically treated magazine imagery, which may be further developed through painting, drawing or collage, retaining a fascinating sense of mystery and ambiguity. The visual result is compelling and full of surprises, as recognizable fragments of subjects coexist with atmospheric forms, unique shapes, collage elements, and open space as a compositional element. A finely tuned sense of design creates cohesion and multiple correspondences of elements within the works. Says the artist, "My layered work mirrors the multi dimensionality of life and experiences, including my own understanding of the world. The randomness and chance of opportunities, successes, failures and disasters is considered".
