You can build a solid framework for a successful carpentry career during this two-year program. Each instructor has at least 2,000 hours of work experience in the trade and Minnesota Vocational Teaching licenses.
Our 20-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio creates an ideal learning environment. Students participate in actually building a house, from initial site work and footings through the interior and exterior finish, during each year of the Riverland program. The first-year of this lab-intensive program focuses on basic hands-on training in one of the largest, best-equipped carpentry shops in the state. You will learn the proper use and care of carpentry tools and equipment in addition to gaining experience on actual jobs. The second-year concentrates on construction principles, materials and methods related to residential construction. Riverland homes are built to HBI (Home Builders Institute) standards. Tool scholarships and field trips add to the appeal of this program.
