Awards & Recognition

Honors

The gpa that will be used to determine whether or not you will be recognized at Commencement as a Distinction or High Distinction graduate is your cumulative gpa, *as indicated on your transcript, from the most recently completed term (typically the previous Fall semester).

*Students can find their cumulative gpa on their unofficial transcript in e-services by clicking on the Academic Records tab.

*This honors status will not be adjusted for Commencement purposes if some or all of your grades for Spring semester have been posted on your transcript prior to Commencement.

High Distinction:
Students who have a cumulative gpa of 3.75 or above will be listed as High Distinction graduates in the graduation program and allowed to wear a gold honors stole.

Distinction:
Students with a cumulative gpa between 3.25 and 3.74 will be recognized as Distinction graduates in the graduation program and allowed to wear a gold cord.

Honors designations noted on your final transcript will be based on your cumulative gpa calculated after ALL final grades have been posted for your final semester and you have completed all of the courses required for all programs you are graduating from.

*Once all final grades post, honors status may change either way – meet it or no longer meet it - from the honors status that was met and used at Commencement.
Notations will be added to the transcript concurrently with the degree, diploma, or certificate earned.
