In order for a student to be considered for the State Grant Program in a given semester, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be received by the Federal Processing Center within the first 30 days of the semester start date. Eligibility requirements of this grant are similar to the Federal Pell Grant. It is available to Minnesota residents only. The maximum combined Pell and State Grant is approximately, $6,705. Students must be enrolled for at least three credits during a semester to qualify.
Minnesota State Grant programs define "enrollment status" differently from federal programs. In order to receive a full State Grant, students must be enrolled for 15 credits per semester. Grant amounts will be adjusted when students are enrolled for fewer than 15 credits.
