What is an Autonomous Vehicle?

An Autonomous Vehicle, also known as a self-driving car, is a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. This means that an autonomous vehicle can drive itself without the need for a human driver to steer, accelerate, or brake.

Autonomous vehicles use a combination of sensors, cameras, and software to perceive their surroundings and make decisions about how to navigate. These sensors include lidar, radar, and cameras, which provide information about the vehicle's surroundings and help it detect obstacles, traffic signs, and pedestrians.

Autonomous vehicles can operate in a variety of environments, including highways, urban streets, and off-road areas. They can also communicate with other vehicles on the road and with traffic management systems to optimize traffic flow and safety.

The development of autonomous vehicles has the potential to revolutionize transportation by reducing accidents, increasing mobility for people with disabilities, and improving traffic flow.
