Next Steps After Acceptance

ONCE you are accepted as a PSEO student:
  1. Assessment Scores: Please have your High School Counselor submit any of the following assessment test scores that you may have taken to help determine college readiness: Accuplacer, ACT, SAT, or MCA. If you do not have any of these assessment scores, you may be required to take the Accuplacer. Please sign-up for an Accuplacer test date here. If you have any questions, please contact a PSEO Advisor.
  2. Make sure you have already filled out all required PSEO paperwork and returned it to our PSEO Processor (pseo@riverland.edu) in Records & Registration
  3. Complete the New PSEO Online Orientation: Students will be automatically enrolled when Riverland receives and processes their PSEO paperwork. Once students have been enrolled in the Orientation, students will receive an email (to the personal email they applied to Riverland with) overnight with log-in directions.
  4. Once you pass the Orientation Quiz, you will schedule an appointment to meet with a PSEO Advisor. You must meet with a PSEO Advisor in order to register for classes (you will not be able to register for classes unless Online Orientation and quiz have been completed). Students will receive an email over-night (to their Riverland email) letting them know they completed Orientation successfully. This email will contain the links to schedule an appointment with a Riverland PSEO Advisor, as well.
  5. Pick up your course books/materials. Check for Bookstore and book ordering updates at the Bookstore website before going to any campus bookstore. There is a bookstore located at two Riverland campuses – Albert Lea and Austin. You will need a printed out copy of your course schedule in order to pick up books on campus. This can be done under the Courses and Registration tab in your Eservices; you will find a Printable Schedule button under the View/Modify Schedule option. If you are taking online classes, please call or email the Bookstore ahead of time to ensure that campus will have your books/materials in stock. You can find their contact information on the Bookstore website.

*Restricted Courses: PSEO students are not eligible to take any Developmental Courses (Courses numbered lower than 1000) Students who inadvertently register for college developemental courses will be charged tuition.

Eligible PSEO Sophomores are restricted to courses on the Sophomore PSEO Course List.

PSEO students must register for courses that will go towards fulfiling unmet high school graduation requirements to avoid any financial responsibility.

*Satisfactory Progress: Students are expected to perform at a satisfactory level if they are to continue to be enrolled in the College. A student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and complete at least 67 percent of their registered credits.
