Academic Forgiveness Policy
The Academic Forgiveness Policy extends to a student who has been away from Riverland for a period of at least three years, a one-time opportunity to establish a new GPA. The policy will not apply if a student has earned a degree, diploma, or certificate from Riverland for the period in which they are asking for forgiveness.
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program of The College Board through which a secondary student completes college-level courses that are designated as AP in high schools.
Auditing a Course
Students may choose to enroll in a course without receiving credit. Audited courses cost the same as courses taken for credit.
CLEP (College Level Examination Program)
Riverland Community College will accept CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams as equivalents for many of its courses.
Course Repeat
Students are allowed to repeat a course for the purpose of passing or improving a grade.
Degree Audit and Transferology
Transferring just got easier! Riverland Community College utilizes uAchieve Degree Audit and Transferology - both of which are designed to provide fast and accurate course and credit transfer information to students.
Drop / Add Policy
Students may drop or add courses through the fifth day of Fall and Spring Semester. For Summer Sessions, students may add courses through the third day of the session and drop courses during the fifth day of session

Graduation Application
Every student who wishes to earn a degree, diploma, or certificate must complete the Graduation Express and submit an Application for Graduation form even if you do not plan on participating in Commencement.
Graduation Requirements
Students are eligible for graduation when they have successfully fulfilled the program requirements for a certificate, diploma, or associate degree.
Incomplete
At the instructor's discretion, students who have been unable to complete course requirements due to unusual circumstances may receive an incomplete ("I")
Maximum Credit Load
The maximum number of credits that a student is allowed to take in any one semester is nineteen (19). (seven credits for summer sessions)
Students wishing to take more than 19 credits must obtain approval from the Director of Advocacy Services.
Satisfactory Academic Policy

Students who fail to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards for grade point average (GPA) and/or credit completion will be suspended. Riverland students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and complete 67% of the credits they are enrolled in at Riverland.

Transcripts
A transcript is a chronological listing of a student’s Riverland Community College courses, grades, GPA, transfer credit totals and degree(s).

Riverland Community College will consider acceptance of transfer credits from regionally or nationally accredited institutions.
